Using TruFocals
1. How long will it take to learn how to use TruFocals?
Wearers begin using their TruFocals immediately. They report that adjusting the focus by moving the slider is so easy and so intuitive that it quickly becomes something one does unconsciously without having to think about it.
2. Is changing focus easy?
Very. TruFocals users find that adjusting focus is so simple that it very quickly becomes almost automatic. The moment something isn’t sharp, you touch the slider and, instantly, it becomes perfectly clear, just like that.
3. I have astigmatism. Can TruFocals help me?
Yes. TruFocals can correct most vision conditions, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even prismatic imbalance. Whatever conventional glasses can correct, TruFocals can correct…with the additional advantage of allowing you to adjust focus dynamically to give you perfect clarity for every distance from close-up to distant and anywhere in between.
4. I’m a computer user. Shifting my attention from the screen to other things in the room is annoying. Can TruFocals help me?
Yes! TruFocals make those adjustments instant and easy. No swapping glasses or tilting your head. Just a small movement of the slider on the TruFocals bridge does it. The American Optometric Association says that 90% of computer users suffer from computer eyestrain and that as many as 75% of them would benefit from special computer eyewear. Because you can adjust your TruFocals precisely for computer use, they satisfy that need. We even offer optional glare-reducing front lenses specifically intended for computer users.
5. Can I get TruFocals with tinted lenses?
All TruFocals inherently block harmful ultra-violet rays (both UVA and UVB). You can also order tinted interchangeable front lenses. We offer contrast enhancing and glare reducing tints for occupational and recreational activities, including aviation, computer use, fishing, golfing, etc.
6. Can I use TruFocals when I play golf?
Yes. TruFocals will keep your vision sharp from scorecard to green. They’re excellent for sports where razor sharp near, intermediate and far vision can help your game.
7. At night, will traffic look as sharp as when I wear conventional glasses?
Yes. And, unlike conventional zonal multifocals, such as bifocals or "no line" progressives, all cars – near and far and to the side – are in razor sharp focus.

Purchasing TruFocals
8. Do I need a special prescription for TruFocals?
Not at all. To make your custom pair of TruFocals, all we need is your regular prescription.
9. Why do you require prescriptions be no more than one year old?
Eyeglass prescriptions are usually valid for two years. When you order TruFocals we recommend that you update your prescription. That way you can enjoy all the benefits for the full life of your prescription.
10. What happens when my prescription changes?
TruFocals’ adjustable focus capability typically accommodates small changes in prescription; if the change is dramatic, however, you should replace your TruFocals. That’s one reason you should update your prescription when you order TruFocals.
11. Can I buy TruFocals from my regular eye care professional?
Yes. But, because TruFocals are a new technology, your eye care professional may not yet have heard of them. Send, fax, or email us your prescription and we will alert your eye care professional that you want to purchase TruFocals from him/her.
12. Is an eye examination for TruFocals more complicated than for regular glasses?
Not at all. In fact, eye care professionals report that an examination for TruFocals is less complicated. Because you will be able to control your TruFocals’ focus for any activity, on the fly, there is no need for determining the focal length(s) most suitable for your occupational or leisure activities.

13. Do they require any special care?
No. TruFocals include anti-reflective, anti-smudge, and anti-scratch coatings. Of course, as with all glasses, it’s a good idea to clean them regularly with a soft cloth and rinse with tap water to flush away any grit.
TruFocals are rugged and durable. Most moving parts are made from stainless steel alloy or TISMO high performance polymer. TruFocals users report that they stand up to the wear and tear of fulltime use.
14. How can I be sure TruFocals will fit me well?
Unlike most conventional frames, TruFocals are custom manufactured in bridge widths that correspond to the pupil distance (PD) shown on your prescription. They also have adjustable nose pads and arms that can accommodate nearly any face. This ensures a comfortable secure customized fit for virtually everyone.
15. Is there more than one style available?
While you can choose from several attractive colors, the optical technology behind TruFocals requires that, like any other focusing lens such as a camera or your eye, a TruFocals lens must be round. Starting from this requirement, we hired one of the world's premier design firms to create a unique, iconic design for our glasses.
16. How much do TruFocals weigh?
We have spent over a dozen years perfecting the design to make robust, adjustable focus glasses that weigh about the same as conventional glasses with standard frames.
17. What if I’m not satisfied with my TruFocals?
TruFocals come with a no-questions-asked 30-day money-back guarantee. Return them within 30 days and we’ll return your money. We even pay for the shipping.
18. Why didn’t anyone think of this before?
Over the years, a number of people have dreamed of the ideal solution: glasses that could focus sharply to any distance – just like a camera lens. But, until now, no one had figured out how to build such a lens into reliable, practical, thin and light eyeglasses. TruFocals required several technical breakthroughs and many years of testing and refinement.
